Returning home from work in the evening I saw the headlights of my car fail half way through. I was trying to negotiate my way through when I was stopped by officers on a patrol. They were kind enough to guide me home asking me to follow them but also difficult enough in handing out a ticket. They refused to believe that this was a mechanical failure. I do not want to pay money for something that was not my mistake. I would like advice about what I should do
