I never had any objections in paying the child support that I was ordered to.  It was after all being used to provide a better life for my only daughter.  She was going to turn into an adult in a few months time and had confided in me that she was no going to pursue her studies.  Instead she had set her mind on moving out on her own and making a career for herself.  I was happy with that and was even willing to help her financially if required.

Things started going wrong when my ex wife got wind about my daughter’s discussions with me.  I started getting calls from her saying that time wasn’t right for our daughter to move out of the home and give up her studies.  My ex wife wanted our daughter to attend college which my daughter was against.  I had no information whether she had changed her mind in any way.  She was unable for a discussion as my ex wife was preventing her from doing that.

I was surprised when I got a call one night from my daughter saying she was being forced to stay at home against her will just to collect the support money that I was paying.  My ex wife had stooped down to levels never before imagined.  I knew instantly that I would have to exercise my rights under the laws.  I was in a good position to do that as I had my daughter on my side.

I got in touch with my lawyer with all the details of the case.  I had him call my daughter and take a statement from her as well.  Once all information was at hand we decided to file for a stop to all support in respect of childcare.  My lawyer had everything he ever wanted to make the appeal and get me the order to stop payments.  My ex wife did not even dare contest against the appeal.  My daughter left her mother alone the same day I got he order. She now shares the same home as I do with a good job at an office.
